"A listener in New Jersey wrote in to ask, What recording artist had the most number two records that never made it to number one? The letter is from Steven Boyd of Edison New Jersey. Well Steve, the recording act that fits your specifications is a San Francisco rock group who by a handy coincidence happens to be in the count down right now with their latest hit single. Starting three years ago they've had five hit songs that peaked at number two. That's a lot of big hits so you better believe they're a heavy group. But the sad part is they've never hit number one. That's like having a lot of dates and never getting kissed. Their string of number twos reads like this. Proud Mary. Bad Moon Rising. Green River. Travelin' Band and Looking Out My Back Door. Their current hit at number 28 this week is a song called Someday Never Comes. Here's Creedence Clearwater Revival."
"John Fogerty, Doug Clifford and Stu Cook at number 28 this week. They moved up six. That's Creedence Clearwater Revival with their latest Someday Never Comes."
