Default Where Our Copies of Hoodoo Maybe Came From

Found on another forum:

I did record the "Hoodoo" sessions at Wally Heiders in San Francisco for John and accompanied him to Los Angeles when he presented the album to Asylum. Joe Smith (head of Asylum) would have released the album if John insisted, but he believed John could make a better album. We left the 1/4-inch "master" reels of the Hoodoo album at Asylum and I believe the bootleg of Hoodoo originated from that visit.

We flew back to San Francisco and went straight to Wally Heiders where we sat in Wally's office and destroyed the multi-track 2-inch session tapes and 1/4-inch out-takes. We unscrewed the reels, and every tape relating to Hoodoo went into the trash cans. I also sliced the tapes with a razor blade to ensure they were never used again.

Ive heard some parts of the hoodoo tape, needless to say, it wont be on my radar (no offense but there is a reason John destroyed that album, he wouldnt have allowed it to be trashed if he thought it was of "fogerty" quality)

However I do like the 1975 album a lot his self named album, its the best ive heard its of the same caliber of Cosmos Factory, its sad that it didnt take off for him, if it would have had the Creedence name (as it should have, the songs sound just like another CCR album, and his famous growl is rampant throughout) it would have done better.

While im at it....why dont our forum have russ gary? I want russ gary in our forums!

I would settle for that guy who sold peanuts at one of CCR's concerts, or heck even that one guy from the ungrateful dead who was passed out on stage and john fogerty had to step over him while playing (OK MADE THAT UP...) LOL
