do i need to contact the publishing company who have the copyright for the song?
and if so; which publishing company is the owner of the rights?

Yes,you have to have permission to use the song.I don't know who you have to contact in Norway but in Denmark we got a firm called Koda who takes care of music rights and royality.You must have something similar in Norway.Since you have sold albums in Europe,I don't understand why you are not aware of this.If you also writing your own songs,you must register them in order to protect your rights.
