Why do some hate Creedence?

Just throwing this out there. I know people have different tastes in music. I like Neil Diamond and ABBA but I can see why some might not...


...but I just don't understand why some people can't stand Creedence? Do they hate great Blues? Do they have an aversion to Rockabilly? Are they allergic to great guitar licks and a driving rhythm section? Maybe they just can't stand John Fogerty's voice?

I have to admit, when I was a kid I think Fogerty's voice rubbed me the wrong way. Like it reminded me of old, hippie music or something. But c'mon...I was a stupid little kid. I've grown up and love his voice!

So is that it? Why the heck would anyone not appreciate Creedence?

Kids today think that CCR is what their old fogey parents listened to.

As for me, im a very happy accident, I should have been like the kids mentioned above but luckily I ended up taking after my older sister which in turned put me back 1 or 2 generations. Funny enough I only get along with adults (32 to 45) and the elderly (Im in my mid twenties). Kids my age CANNOT stand me, and when I play CCR its like chalkboard screeches to them.

When I see haw many people like lady gaga, justin and other mtv stars it is clear to me why they hate CCR. For Creedence music you must have brean, and only idiot can listen gaga....

Marko pretty much hit the nail on the head.
I eschew all the modern trash because some Hollywood producers decide what will go into the mainstream and what not, and millions of record-buying (or downloading!) teens/sheep seem to follow the flow.

I genuinely wonder what would happen today if a fantastic no-nonsense Rock 'n Roll band similar to Creedence sent in a demo tape to a major record label.
