TABERNICOLAS is on a distinguished road
Wink A funny story from our rock lovers group in Colombia

Admired Mr John Fogerty

We have a funny and special story that will surely surprise you

When the quarantine began in Colombia, in March 2020, my small group of friends formed a community of 7 lovers of rock, blues, soul, disco, metal, punk, new wave, etc. to meet virtually every Saturday from our homes during the lockdown.

Some of us have been friends for 15 or more years and some have joined to this small group, which we named in Spanish, Tabernicolas (something like cave men and tavern lovers) . Today we are 12 friends. Our age ranges from 20 to 60, so it is true that good music belongs to all generations ...
Each of us, from different parts of the country, spent our meetings watching videos, providing knowledge about music, cinema, politics, and playing jokes. Sometimes we do tournaments to bet each to another with the better song or new stories around rock music.
Today we have enjoyed 53 virtual meetings (some long weekends we do 2 meetings) that we start around 4 pm on Saturday until 2 or 3 am the next day.
It's normal to hear artists like Allman Brothers, Sweet, Faces, CCR (Obvious), Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaugham, Boston, Ten Years After, MC5, J. Bonamassa, Talking Heads, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder , Motorhead, Megadeth, Yes, Pearl Jam, The Temptations, Rainbow, Elvis, Doobie Brothers, Kansas, Cream, etc, etc, etc
We have discovered and rediscovered hundreds of bands and artists, songs hidden as true treasures, jewels that are never heard on the radio ... it has been a true musical oasis to endure these difficult times (we are working people, with children who are beginning to listen our music and these meetings have become an healthy ritual ...)
When we got to the 50th meeting we analyzed everything we had heard during more than 450 hours of meetings, more than 2000 songs and more than 150 artists ...... and it was not a surprise to realize that the band most frequently we listen is……. Credence Clearwater Revival, which we adopt as our musical flag…. Sums it up.
From El Cerrito, California to Colombia….
So we wanted to share this simple story, saying thank you for having led with Doug, Tom, Stu… this very special and timeless source of music.
After that, we created a dream that seems surreal and crazy…. write to you about this group of fans in Colombia, so you know that you have fans here.
And, go further with this dream: invite you to join a few minutes to one of our meetings via Google meet … know about your songs, thoughts, ....It would be the best thing that could happen to us in the middle of the pandemic. And surely strengthen this unconditional love for music that has accompanied us this very complex and hard year.

We are Alfonso, Ricardo, Jorge, Nicolas, Guiovanny, Carlos, Joan, Jaime, Marlon, Leonardo, German and William…. From Colombia

Our mails

Best regards
