In Cool hand luke, there's 'Midnight Special' followed by 'Cotton Fields'. They're not sung by Creedence but by some 'good ole boy's' sharing the chain gang with Newman. Must be the original versions I ghess or sum old countrtrian like Bob Owen's.

Midnight Special is heard a couple of times in "Twilight Zone - the Movie". John Lithgow's and Dan Akyroyd's characters were fans.

Born on the bayou was used during the opening credits to the film "The Return of Swamp Thing." I remember because I thought it was a pretty cool intro because they showed old pages from the comic book.
