Hi, I'm not sure but I think it was about the Vietnam war.
To me it is also a song about the rain of politics inside our own society. BT |

Yes, it's about Vietnam, although now and then to me it's all the pain and suffering, not just in Vietnam. The "Rain", I mean. In conjunction with my fav. CCR song, "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?". I, of course, am way too young to know what the war was like, but I have seen bad suffering in my own eyes. That very, very special pain that Fogerty felt. I have felt special pain too, and now and then I'll ask some of the people I know real well .. "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?".
And I wonder, still I wonder, Who'll Stop the Rain? The rain means something different for each of us, in our own ways. ![]() -GK |

The "rain" as i recollect was a reference to the carpet bombing of Vietnam being done at the time. In images of B-52s dropping bombs, the number of bombs appeaared like rain. "Who'll stop the rain" was a plea to the Administration to stop the bombing.
