(WISH I COULD) HIDEAWAY

What is this song about
I personaly feel that it is about a frend who is dying, was there a person in Jhon live ???
If ,and tell me why not ,my time is there this will be the song on my funeral.

I think, the song is about Tom Fogerty. John foresees the first split of the band and describes his sorrow about this. (Peter from Germany / sorry for my bad english)

I must agree with Peter.
I could be true, but I'm not sure about it.

I agree too, think I've read something about that somewhere.
But most of all, this song, even before I understood the meaning was my favourite, John's voice in this one is... !!! makes something in my stomach and nearly (why nearly) drives me to tears.

This song's great. Just listen carefully to every tone, every word, ... you'll see how great it is. I really love to play this song, the chords are cool.

We just lost a close friend at a young age and when I heard this song recently, I was quite close to tears when I thought of our friend and listened to the lyrics of this song. Great song...
