Default John's Concerts Available Online

John's recent concerts are available for download at http://www.livedownloads.com/. I downloaded a couple and have to admit I am impressed. I downloaded the 19 October Austin Texas show and the 18 October Grand Prairie Texas shows.

I downloaded the 24 bit 48K FLAC versions. You pay for the show (I used PayPal) and the shows are instantly available for download. The shows downloaded quickly over my end of the line DSL. I picked the higher end FLAC. No compression, higher bits. I played the concerts using VLC through my 30 year old Kenwood Basic system with 35 year old (rebuilt 10 years ago) Technics speakers - four of them.

I was impressed with the quality. The bass is deep and rich while the highs are crisp. The sound of the audience is barely there. It doesn't really sound like a concert album. John's performance was outstanding. He really sounds like he's getting into the music.

Having a soundboard recording of the concert available to fans is a great idea. The Dead did it for years though letting the fans record off the soundboard. Those attending the concert would be inclined to get a copy while die hard fans wishing to complete collections would get them too. And, the whole thing generates revenue$$.
