The New 'New Guy'

Just found this forum yesterday. Cool place!
I'm 47 and just started learning to play guitar this past year...mostly bluegrass (and I upgraded and old classical guitar to a dreadnaught so the fiddles could hear me!). I've been taking regular lessons for about 8 or 9 months now.
I was watching a DVD documentary on CCR, and somebody on there showed how to play the opening 'Pround Mary' riff, and I said "Hey! I can do that!" So, like so many other guitar players, the first 'cool' thing I learned on guitar was 'Proud Mary'.
Then I re-wrote the lyrics for 'The Midnight Special' to fit a reunion I was going to, and learned how to play that. So...the first song I've played in public was basically 'The Midnight Special'.
Now I'm working on 'Down on the Corner'.
It's awesome how much I've been getting reacquainted with CCR!
