Hi, I'm not sure but I think it was about the Vietnam war.

To me it is also a song about the rain of politics inside our own society. BT

Yes, it's about Vietnam, although now and then to me it's all the pain and suffering, not just in Vietnam. The "Rain", I mean. In conjunction with my fav. CCR song, "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?". I, of course, am way too young to know what the war was like, but I have seen bad suffering in my own eyes. That very, very special pain that Fogerty felt. I have felt special pain too, and now and then I'll ask some of the people I know real well .. "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?".

And I wonder, still I wonder, Who'll Stop the Rain?
The rain means something different for each of us, in our own ways. :)

definition of rain

The "rain" as i recollect was a reference to the carpet bombing of Vietnam being done at the time. In images of B-52s dropping bombs, the number of bombs appeaared like rain. "Who'll stop the rain" was a plea to the Administration to stop the bombing.
