Looking Out My Back Door, Music Video Question
 

So I just viewed the official music video recording of Looking Out My Back Door, for the fist time. Recent events compelled me to an internet , search, and walah...there they are...performing Looking Out My Back Door (like it sounded on the radio many times) in what appears to be an apartment.

Clean shaven John has something attached/tied to his ankle, and well, I'm here now to ask what the something attached/tied to his ankle is.

They were in the loft level of Cosmo's Factory, a warehouse located in the industrial/wharf district of Oakland, CA


They had a small area with some furniture and comforts up there and that is where they filmed the music video.


As for what you see on his ankle, it is his guitar's patch cord running over to the amplifier, when the music video was filmed they were playing the song for real (but then dubbed the audio over for television use, which was common practice in that time period).
