Default Where Our Copies of Hoodoo Maybe Came From

Found on another forum:

I did record the "Hoodoo" sessions at Wally Heiders in San Francisco for John and accompanied him to Los Angeles when he presented the album to Asylum. Joe Smith (head of Asylum) would have released the album if John insisted, but he believed John could make a better album. We left the 1/4-inch "master" reels of the Hoodoo album at Asylum and I believe the bootleg of Hoodoo originated from that visit.

We flew back to San Francisco and went straight to Wally Heiders where we sat in Wally's office and destroyed the multi-track 2-inch session tapes and 1/4-inch out-takes. We unscrewed the reels, and every tape relating to Hoodoo went into the trash cans. I also sliced the tapes with a razor blade to ensure they were never used again.
