the lyrics are to cheer up Fogerty's son. they're based on a kid's mind and some sort of comic book

whats up with "take a ride on the flying spoon"? that sounds like DRUGS to me.

What kind of kid would think about riding on flying spoons? I know in Holland the authorities are a little loose on the drug laws, but is it that bad now, dutchccr?

Um, yeah... I live in a town with 100,000 people and there are like 6 shops where you can legally buy dope...
By the way, you guys have convinced me that 'Back Door is a drug song...

I hope I don't seemed out of touch but I never thought CCR used drugs? I mean other bands from that era were adiment about it in their music like the Beatles in the mid 60s when it started showing up in their music. Since I just showed up in the world in 1969, maybe some one could clear this up?

I totally agree, and one thing that made me CCR fan was that they never needed drugs to write or sing theyr songs; they are clear as the water
